I collaborated with United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona and the people who live inside Barrio Viejo to complete this project. My initial concept was selected from a pool of applicants. Then I met with creative stakeholders to tailor my vision to the community. Once the design was approved, I created a paint-by-number system so the neighborhood could help me make the artwork. Community painting is an effective way for people to feel ownership of the artwork I create, and I like thinking it might spark their creative interest in painting a mural of their own someday.
You can see examples of my paint by number system here!
