This mural was a self-funded project in collaboration with APS and the Roosevelt Row Organization. It is a representation of Calvin Goode, a legendary Phoenix, Arizona, council member and civil rights advocate. My dad worked with him as a social worker in South Phoenix and held him in high esteem as a role model. After his passing, I chose to commemorate his life’s work with a developing skyline of our city behind him, symbolizing his positive contributions and the progress we still must make to honor his legacy. Fellow artist Jessie Yazzie assisted on the project.
