sunBLOCK umbrella design

I was approached by the City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture and Arizona State University to design an umbrella for the sunBLOCK art project. The initiative’s goals were to provide portable sun shelters to the unhoused population and people who frequently ride public transportation in our city during the summer months. The result was a successful heat abatement method that kept people safe and beautified the public sphere wherever they went!
