This mural, titled “The Evolution of Shred,” is a collaboration between Evan Hillis and I. It spans the 700+ foot wall containing Revel Surf, KTR, retail spaces, and restaurants at Cannon Beach in Mesa! It is the largest mural in Arizona. It’s a narrative mural that depicts the beginnings of life on Earth through the era of modern man. Throughout this evolution, our connection to water is demonstrated as both a medium for the origins of life and for enjoyment. The piece took 17 five-gallon buckets of primer to prepare the surface and 3 months to complete with a team of 6 principal artists and assistants.
