In the fall of 2018, I went on a two-week expedition sailing through the Arctic Ocean with TheArcticCircle.org. On board the ship with me were geographers, sailors, and other artists. We shared our observations about this fragile ecosystem and discussed solutions to preserve Svalbard’s natural beauty. The research from this residency resulted in a 50′ mural that I painted in Downtown Phoenix. It draws connections from these seemingly distant locations, showcasing how we all share one world.
