Wings of Ancestors discusses how the people who came before us uplift our community. I fabricated the structure from reclaimed Ponderosa Pine from Coconino National Forest. It is cut into the shape of two sets of hands, one young and one old. They come together to create the shadow puppet of a bird. This shadow provides shelter from the sun and a place to sit for viewers. It reminds us of the comfort older generations bring to our life and their selfless contributions to make our world better. It inspires us to continue this legacy of love.
